A federal jury found three defendants guilty of stealing $300 million from a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme. Amondo Antoine Miller, Tashena Laverna Crump, and Ballam Hazeakiah Dudley conspired with at least 40 other individuals to victimize many individuals across the United States. This scheme began around the 2000s and they targeted vulnerable elderly citizens. Their scheme was successful because they called victims who had magazine subscriptions and they offered a reduced price to renew them. Some victims would receive over $1,000 in monthly magazine subscriptions and this led to the defendants gaining more than $300 million from over 150,000 victims nationwide. The defendants were later found guilty of multiple accounts including, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.
