Remedies was hired as a caregiver by the victim via Facebook in October 2022. She was authorized to use the victim’s debit card to assist with personal needs, such as purchasing groceries or other items. However, in November 2022, Remedies began making unauthorized withdrawals from the debit card at a nearby casino and various other locations in the area. None of these transactions were made for the benefit of the victim. Over the course of five months, Remedies stole $24,887. Marcia Remedies’ role was intended to provide care, but instead, she exploited the vulnerable victim by stealing funds that did not belong to her.
